DEATH AS VIBRANCY, 2026

Death as Vibrancy
in collective exhibition Shapeshifters at
Pavilhão 28 e UCCLA, Lisbon
Curated by Katherine Sirois and Ricardo B. Vicente

“For this piece, Death as Vibrancy, I wanted to engage with the exhibition’s theme of metamorphosis by imagining an underworld cosmology in which death is understood not as an ending or a void, but as vibration, continuity, and transformation. Here, beings inhabit a transitional, hybrid, and ephemeral state, constructing a landscape where the boundaries between one another are continually reimagined.

Posthumanist thought and philosophies of immanence, together with Spinoza’s notion of conatus—the inherent force within all matter, living or dead, to persevere—inform this reflection. A cosmic dance between spirit and matter.

This work is part of an ongoing body of drawings, collages, photographs, and textile experiments developed through my long-term research project, Light, Darkness and Wild Animals.”
